Memories

Hello, All! Do you remember where you were 14 years ago today? Some of you were with Spencer and I. We were in Logan, Utah. It was a gorgeous Spring day. Clear, blue skies...a tiny bit of snow still on the ground and a little nip in the air. It was the perfect day for a wedding! We made you drive all over the place! 10am Logan Temple, 1pm or so in Bountiful for "Wedding Luncheon", and then 6pm in Salt Lake for Reception at the Lion House. (Sorry for all the miles!) I don't know if I can express how much it meant to be surrounded by our family, and to be loved and accepted into a new family.

I remember looking into Spencers eyes across the alter and knowing that what we were doing was so right and that he was the one for me!

I remember how tired I was and therefore how giggly and loud I was at the reception as we greeted people.(thanks Lynne for catching that on video) I still get that way when I'm extra tired! :)

I remember both sets of parents doing everything in their power to make this time wonderful and special for us. Thank you , Thank you!!!

I remember how nervous I was to be leaving with Spencer for our honeymoon, and then falling asleep in his arms that night, and realizing that this was now "home" and being perfectly content.

Every year, Spence and I look at each other and say, "Hey, I still really like you....WOW!" and laugh. I can't believe it's been 14 years. They have truly flown by. I'm so lucky to be in love with my best friend! He is a wonderful man and I look forward to a million more years with him!

Saving Memories

I hope you all don't mind but I'm going to add a few pictures from last year. Many of you haven't seen them and I think this would be the easiest way to share. They are all from Christmas time.
The first set of pictures is of a Christmas Progressive Dinner that we did with a few of our neighbors. We love where we live and we love our dear friends. We had a great time with the Tobeys, vonTrothas, and Cartiers. We ended up at our house for a darling Nativity that the kids put on and dessert. We had a great time!

And finally our family Christmas photos for 2007. We had a wonderful time in Sequim with Doug and Theresa's gang. Nat and Jen came with Freddy and Bridget and we all had such a great time together. We painted, made Gingerbread houses, played games, sang carols, watched movies, and ate, and ate, and ate! ;) We love them all and are so lucky to be close!

Spencer's Evening Adventure 3/11/08

Tonight has been the night of phone calls...
6:30pm: Honey, I'm gonna catch the last commuter bus out of the city. I'll call you from the car!

7:30pm: Um, Sorry honey, that last meeting took longer than expected. I'm on the bus now, I'll see you soon.
7:50pm: I'm in the car in Shoreline...really sorry I'm so late...
8:15pm: (A: I almost didn't answer) S:Umm, your not gonna believe this but the car is dead!
A: Where are you? S: On the off ramp at 128th. At least I made it off the freeway. A: Ok, what should I do? Come get you? Call a tow truck?
8:17pm: I call our wonderful home teacher, Andy Shaw, to get advice on a towing company to use. He is absolutely wonderful and offers to go get Spencer so I don't have to drag 4 sleepy kids out in the rain.
8:30pm: Spence calls back and we chat while he waits. He is getting a little cold and very hungry.
10:00pm: S: Well, we are at the Firestone on 164th. We got the car towed and I left the keys. A: So, are you on your way? S: Well, see, your not going to believe this, but Andy's battery is dead!
At this point we are both dying laughing and trying to figure out what to do. I start calling a few friends to see If they could stay with the kids so I could go help jump Andy's car. I finally get a hold of Kristin Wallace and Spence calls back saying they had flagged someone down and that he'd be home soon!

10:20pm Spence gets home safe and sound!!!

We just want to say thank you so much to Andy Shaw! We couldn't ask for a better Home Teacher and friend! Spence says and extra "thank you" for the hot chocolate--It was delicious!

February 2008 Adventures

Hi, everyone!

I've been told by so many people how great blogging is, so I thought I'd try it out! I love the idea of a scrapbook/journal all in one, especially since I have zero time, desire, or talent for scrapbooking! I hope this will be a great way to share and save what our family is doing.

February was a busy, busy month and the beginning of this years "Adventures" for us!

Valentines Day was really fun! The older girls got their Valentine Cards all ready by themselves and Katelyn really enjoyed doing hers for her Kindergarten class. Ian really just enjoyed pigging out on all the candy and chocolate. (Needless to say, my box of chocolates from Spence was gone in a snap!)

Two days after Valentines, we left on our Family Vacation to Disneyland. WHOO HOO!!! I must say it was everything everyone told us it would be: busy, loud, tiring, expensive, but most of all FUN!!! We really had a great time and the kids were really good. I must say I highly recommend multiple days at Disneyparks, especially for the little ones who have to have at least 1 melt down per day. It was so nice to return to the hotel and go swimming or veg out infront of the tv and still be able to go back later! The kids wanted to share some of their favorite things about Disneyland:

Emily loved Space mountain, California Screamin, and Pirates of the Carribean. She is our "Pirate" girl and her big treasure from Disneyland was a pirate necklace, which she now wears daily.

Erin loved all of the above, but her most favorite was the "Tower of Terror" in California Adventure. She wanted to go on EVERYTHING and was afraid of NOTHIN'! She loves her Minnie Mouse ears we got her.

Katelyn was a little of a scaredy cat until she learned to trust us! She was terrified the first time we went through "Pirates of the Carribean". (She didn't like the dark) Then she wanted to ride it over and over! It definetly was her favorite! She also really liked Splash Mountain and the fact that daddy got all wet!

Ian loved Pirates and "Soaring over California" in California Adventure. He loved having a stroller just for him and wanted suckers and cotton candy everyday!

Spence and I loved most everything, but were really impressed with the shows. Spence really loved the light parade and I loved the fireworks over Cinderellas castle. They were amazing!!

We have to add one show the kids loved was the "Jedi Training Academy". It is a show where 20 kids are picked to become Jedi knights. Erin got the priveledge of being chosen (we had a very sad Katelyn :( They learned moves with fake light sabers and then Darth Vader and Darth Moll came out and tried to turn them to the "Dark Side". Erin got to "fight" with Darth Moll and successfully became a Jedi!!! It was really fun. We went back again to try for Katelyn, but again she wasn't picked (there is like 75+ kids there). It is a good memory though.

On the way home, we stopped in San Fransisco to stay with Uncle Mark. We all love him so much! Poor Ian was devistated when we left the next day. He kept saying to "Turn around and let him stay with Uncle Mark!" We loved going out to eat and teaching Mark all the JOYS of "Webkinz". Thanks so much for having us!

It was good to get home and back to our Kimi. She truly missed us and has been extra sweet with Ian since our return.

February 27-29th was our Elementary school Talent Show. They had rehearsals and Assemblies and then performed for parents on the 29th at night. I was the Backstage Manager and loved helping out! Emily sang "When Christmas Comes to Town" and Erin played "Oh, Susannah" on the piano. They did a great job!

Somehow the day before the talent show, I hurt my neck. Since I have had the new adventure of Chiropracters and Massage therapist(not so bad!). I'm learning to be grateful for the little things of lifting things and being able to do dishes and such! I'm so thankful for Spence for his patience and help! They think I should be back to normal within the month! YEAH!
