Katelyn's Broken Thumb

October 22, 2009

Can you tell something's wrong?? Poor Katelyn slipped off of some bars at school and landed on her thumb. We went to the Doctor and....

Yep...it's broken!! A WEEK BEFORE OUR TRIP TO HAWAII!!! AAAAHHH!

She is being pretty brave... though when the doctor told her she couldn't get it wet, she said, "Mom, I think my life is ruined!" (not a drama queen there! :) I told her that we'd figure something out and if we couldn't swim, we'd become professional sand castle builders! Stay tuned to find out what happens...

Visiting the Wallihans in Port Townsend

After we left Fort Worden, we had the privelege of introducing Mom and Dad to some of our dear friends, Diane and Roger Wallihan. We had a wonderful time and were sad to leave! They had a surprise for the kids. A special ball that you rolled around to make homemade ice cream! YUM!!!

Chatting and getting to know each other.

Katelyn and her special friend for the visit. She had so much fun playing and trying to do a different voice for the puppet...so fun!

We love getting to see the Wallihans!!!

Port Townsend Adventures with Grandma and Grandpa

After Katelyn's Baptism lunch, we packed up and headed over to catch the Kingston Ferry on our way to Port Townsend. We stayed at Fort Worden State Park in some old Officer's Quarters. We had a wonderful time playing games, exploring the beaches and the old Fort's Batteries and just being together! We were so happy to share this with Grandma and Grandpa!

Here are Grandma and Grandpa on the ferry--pretty windy and cold!

Spence and Erin loving every minute of it!

Isn't my Mommy pretty?!!?

The kids ready to explore!!

And we are off!

My camera doesn't show the brightness, but the fall colors were amazing!

We made it to the north side beach. Ian found this and said, "I think I'll call him Squishy!"

We love you, Grandma and Grandpa!!!

Katelyn's Baptism Day

Our Sweet Katelyn was Baptized on October 10th. How proud we are of her! She was so excited and couldn't wait. Erin had her a little worried about her interview with the Bishop. She quickly learned that he is a nice, funny guy and that it wasn't some big test she had to pass. She was surrounded by dear friends and family and it was a memorable, wonderful day for her!

With Grandma ad Grandpa Moline

Grandma Moline gave a beautiful talk on Baptism for Katelyn. She was so glad they could come!

After the Baptism, we had a picnic up at our park. It was a gorgeous day!!!

We didn't learn til later that cousin Jeremie cancelled taking a very important test to be able to be at Katelyn's baptism and give the talk about the Holy Ghost. Jeremie is a wonderful young man, one that Katelyn looks up to and admires SO MUCH!!! We love you, Jeremie!

Emily's 1st Temple Trip

On October 6th, Emily went to the Seattle Temple for the first time with the youth. I can't believe how fast the years are going by! She is such a beautiful, sweet, spiritual person and I'm always quite in awe of her! I'm grateful that she lives her life so she can enjoy such wonderful experiences! I love you, sweet girl!
