Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny delivered wonderful baskets this year. He couldn't find Erin's pink basket as she had hidden it from the day before, so she got to use Mommy and Daddy's. (We didn't mind sharing-we still got lots of eggs ourselves!)

Here is the whole crew after church on Sunday. Our good friend John Tobey came over and took our picture. Ian had worn his cute new suit jacket, but was ready to get OUT of church clothes!

Emily and I had a great time together Sat. night searching--and I mean searching, for Easter Dresses. It is hard to dress a 12 year old with the body of some 17 or 18 year old. While we didn't find a bright Spring color, we both were very pleased with our dresses. I think Emily is especially pretty!

We found dresses for Erin and Katelyn weeks ago. Erin new exactly what she wanted as soon as she saw it, but she still tried on about 6 other dresses-just for fun! She will be my little shopaholic! She looks bright and beautiful!

Doesn't Katelyn look beautiful? I was very surprised (and pleased) when she chose this very pretty, and very feminine dress. She even asked me for a necklace to wear! (Her inner girl is starting to emerge!!!!)

Before I close, I just wanted to say that Easter is about so much more than the bunny and new dresses. While I love traditions, one that we don't have a picture of is sitting at the dinner table and talking about our Savior and what he means to us. I love hearing what my kids learn at church and their opinions and questions about their Savior. I love hearing Spencer share his love and testimony to us. I do Know that Jesus Lives and that He loves me. I know that because of Him, I can repent of my sins and I can see and be with Him and our Father in Heaven again. I know I sent this website out on my Facebook, but my mom sent it to me and I thought it was beautiful. Enjoy and Happy Easter!!

Easter Weekend

We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter Weekend. We enjoyed our time together. We were lucky that Spence gets to enjoy Good Friday at home, so after getting our taxes put together, He and Ian helped me make Sugar Cookie dough. YUM! Unfortunately, that is the one thing still unfinished-it is in the fridge, though, with LOTS of fingerprints from snitchers. We'll see if we are able to actually make the cookies! (How long til cookie dough goes bad???Anyone?)

Saturday morning, we worked on making some paper mache' eggs. It was messy and gooey and fun! I thought they were kind of pretty just hanging there drying, but we did cut them down and cut a hole in the side. In the end, they look like little nests inside the egg. (I love ideas from the Family Fun Magazine!)

Living in the Northwest, the weather was of course, cool and ready to rain at any moment! Luckily, it held off, and we were able to have our Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt! It is always so fun to be with Friends and get to see the Easter Bunny! Katelyn had a Softball game and Emily was 'too big' to be in the picture. :( She was very sweet and shared the eggs she got with Katelyn, though.

They do a good job of separating the kids by age so that the littlest don't get trampled. But they gave them a 5 egg limit this year which I thought was pretty chincy, especially since they splurged and had Jamba Juices over with the cookies and Capri Suns. I don't need a Jamba Juice-give my kids maybe 10 eggs, please? ( I know, I complain but I'm not willing to be on the Homeowners committee!)
Anyways, it was a really fun day and the kids were awesome! I don't have pictures of them coloring eggs this year, because Spence did that with them while Emily and I went out on a date in search of our Easter Dresses. I'll continue this saga in the next post!

It's time for Softball!

Yep, it is that time of the year again-where we live at the ball park instead of at home! :) We love to watch Katelyn play ball. She is so enthusiastic and excited to play the game! She is now on a Rookie Softball team where she gets to see that there are lots of girl athletes. It has been very good for her!

This was her first game. They just rotate positions and she was showing me her "ready" stance! (It is very hard for her to maintain this position for long, she is usually doing a little dance or playing in the dirt. :)

GRRR! This is Katelyn being a tough catcher. This league is machine pitch and nobody showed her where she should squat. She was so close that it pegged her in the chest, so she moved back a tad. Then it pegged her lower on her side (Thank goodness for padding!) and she moved back a little more. Third time was the charm and the ball landed right in her glove! Had to laugh!
The following are videos of Katelyn batting. They are a little hard to see through the fence.

Yep, unfortunately, that is me with the big mouth! :)
