Beautiful weather FINALLY!

Saturday was absolutely Gorgeous outside! The sun was shining and it was in the 50's. The sun shining makes such a huge difference! We decided to check out a beach/park that we hadn't been to yet. It is called Picnic point park in Mulkilteo.

There was a little grassy area and a lot of logs and rocks for the beach. The kids had fun walking on the logs.

As the tide came in the water would make little rivers through the rocky area. Katelyn made her own crossing that we watched many people use afterwards! Good Job, Kate!

Spence took the kids exploring and found this neat fort that had been built! The kids loved it and played in it for quite a while!

The sun started to set and I had to get some pictures of us! Isn't Ian cute!

Aah, my sweetheart!

You know me....I love sunsets!

Stars on their Way

My life for the last few months has revolved around our school's Talent Show. The above picture is of our K-3 group. They asked that I stand in the picture for this one. The Talent Show was last Friday and was a wonderful success!! I couldn't have asked for it to go any better! The kids were great and everything went so smoothly! We had a little girl forget her lyrics, but she came out later and did a fantastic job! You could just feel the students and audience pulling for her. It was a really neat memory!
The principal asked if I was going to do it again next year. I told her I'd think about it. (Spence asked if he could just give a big donation to the school instead! :)
I've learned a lot about myself through this. I did a good job and handled the anxiety well. I learned that I AM a micro- manager ( a nice one, though) and a bit of a perfectionist. But if I did do it again, I would know who I could count on and be able to delegate more. So, we'll see. In the end, it was a lot of FUN!

The one negative about the night was that Katelyn and Erin were to do a piano duet and Katelyn got sick. She was able to do the assembly that morning, so she did get to perform once. Erin asked if I would do Katelyn's part with her. Even though I messed up a little, I think Erin sounded GREAT!
Emily was my Right-hand gal backstage. She worked a 5 disc cd player while I dealt with the sound system. She had a stressful job and handled it beautifully! I was very proud of her!
It was a wonderful evening and a friend was sweet enough to get our picture to remember it.

Valentines Weekend

Spence and I had a very special Valentines Weekend. I've been so busy with the school's talent show that I haven't been a very attentive wife or mother! I think Spence wanted a little attention, so I got two special nights out for Valentine's.
On Thursday, Feb 12th, we met Doug, Theresa, and Jen downtown to hear the Symphony play. We had a little Thai food (something that is becoming a favorite), and then met Jen at Benaroyal Hall. It was a wonderful concert and evening! We had a special present for Jen and it was wonderful to be there to watch her open it! :)

On Friday, Jen brought Freddy and Bridget up and let Spence and I go out alone. We went to a French Restaurant in Mukilteo. (For some reason I'm not remembering the name right now.) It was pretty good food. We've had better in Paris, of course. (boy, I'm turning into a snob!) The best thing was being able to just sit and talk the evening away.
I've always said I'm so lucky to have Spencer to love! and I'm double lucky that he actually loves me, too! Still blows me away! :)
We had a wonderful weekend with Freddy and Bridgett. The kids love each other so much and play wonderfully together! We love being close to cousins! Thanks for letting them stay with us, Jen!

Katelyn and Ian Goofing off!

It is so hard for little ones to be indoors so much in the winter! But it is funny to see the creative things they come up with to enjoy themselves! Ian is growing up and determined to be a Jedi. Almost everything he says and does revolves around Star Wars, in one way or another. In the middle of talking about getting dressed, he'll start talking about when Luke has a BLUE light saber and when he has a GREEN one. This is evidently very important knowledge as I cannot get him into clothes until we have it all sorted out. I should say "I" have it sorted as He is always RIGHT! :)

A few weeks ago, Ian took our drapes and our couch cushions and made himself his own special Jedi lair. He thought it was quite cool!

See, I told you, He has the "force".

Katelyn, on the other hand has started torturing poor Kimi. She asks me constantly to borrow my camera to take a 'few' pictures. (I've deleted probably 50 or so). She'd even get Kimi as she'd try to hide. Then she decided to make Kimi some clothes. She did a pretty good job, but the poor dog just stood there and looked at me, saying "HELP!!!!"

January Floods

Yes, I'm catching up again! We had so much snow in December into January that we had MAJOR flooding problems in January. More school was missed, much to our dismay by this time. Here are some pictures of the flood here in Snohomish. Luckily, we are up on top of all of this. We got a few of these pictures from the bottom of our Subdivision.
