Sunday in Carthage and Nauvoo

On Sunday, we went to Carthage and visited the jail and visitors center where two men that we hold dear to our hearts, Joseph and Hyrum Smith, were murdered. It was a very memorable visit. After, we went back to Nauvoo and got to see their graves and their homes. We went over to the temple and took pictures. I wanted each child to have a picture in front of the temple. We ended the day with an extremely memorable walk down Parley Street to the Mississippi River. This is the route that our ancestors and other Mormons took as they left Nauvoo-run out by mobs and some government officials. Along the path they had placards with thoughts and stories from people who had left. We ended at the river where they have some sculptures and a memorial to those who died. It was a wonderful 'last night' in Nauvoo.
